Tony McNally
Chief Executive Officer

Tony McNally is an International Director in the Retail and Retail Hospitality sectors, most recently as the Managing Director of the Alliance Boots Retail Pharmacy, Health and Beauty Chain in the Netherlands. Previously engaged in the UK and Thailand for Alliance Boots driving improved business operational performance and profitability. As strategist, implementer, operator he led the development of retail hospitality brands in the health & leisure industry in Europe. Tony's experience is as a turnaround agent and brand/business builder in a customer driven environment, building in country management teams to deliver the required growth strategies and returns. Tony holds an MBA and Law degree from Warwick University and is a Prince II Project Management practitioner.

Chris Kieu
Chief Finance Officer

Chris Kieu has been previously engaged at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte & Touche, ZK Group (Pty), Diageo and Africa Development Bank spanning over 17 years. He has proven experience and specializes in Strategic Financial Management, Financial Accounting and Audits, Management accounting, General administration management and Project management. He holds a Bsc Finance from United States International University and is a Certified Chartered Accountant and a member of ACCA (UK).

Peter Barker
Chief Operations Officer

Peter Barker has built up his own companies or been a senior level partner in several start up pharmacy & non pharmacy businesses both private & corporate. His strengths lie in identifying then developing individual's strengths to build a strong, all inclusive, positively motivated team always questioning the status quo. Peter has been responsible for all aspects of operational management ensuring a smooth, efficient & profitable ongoing business model involving continuous improvement. Peter holds a pharmacy degree from the UK and is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain.

Josh Ruxin, PhD
Co-Founder and Chairman

Joshua Ruxin runs a network of 86 pharmacies and health centers that serve 2 million people in Rwanda, where he has lived and worked for 8 years. He is on the faculty at Columbia University. In 1996, he joined Monitor Group and in 2000, he co-founded and served as vice president of OTF Group, a strategy consulting firm. During his years there and at the Monitor Group, he led projects in several developing countries and was an advisor to government and private sector leaders in medical sectors. Dr. Ruxin was a Truman Scholar at Yale University, where he received his undergraduate degree, and a Marshall Scholar at the University of London.

David G. Zapol, MBA, MPH
Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor

David Zapol led the growth of the global health practice at FSG, a 100-person global strategy consulting firm that spun out of Harvard Business School, where his clients included Eli Lilly and Company, Merck, Pfizer and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. While at FSG David and Josh worked together to launch Rwanda Works, a venture-driven organization that created the first private sector dairy collective in Rwanda. David also co-founded Metazoa, a software firm acquired by Pharsight Corporation. David holds an MBA/MPH from Columbia University, an MS in Immunology from Stanford University and an SB in biology from MIT.

Karen Gikunda
Chief Marketing Officer

Karen previously worked as Sales Executive at Radio Africa, Account Manager and Director at MCL Saatchi & Saatchi and Brands Manager at Distell. Karen is a superb marketing professional with over 10 years of experience managing top tier, fast growing brands in Kenya and the region. Karen has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, (Economics Major, and Sociology Minor) and is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya.

Jeff McCormick
Co-Founder

Jeffrey S. McCormick is Managing Partner with Saturn Partners which he founded in 1994 to finance early-stage growth companies. Working closely with entrepreneurs, he helps forge strategic relationships, build management teams, and develop marketing and distribution strategies to enable significant growth. Jeff's experience as an investment banker, entrepreneur and venture capitalist dates back to the early '90s. Prior to founding Saturn, he was as an analyst and investment banker with Bariston Associates, a Boston firm that originates and manages private investments for individual and institutional clients. Jeff is involved with the Sean McDonough Charitable Foundation, Citi Performing Arts Center, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Trinity Church Boston. A Syracuse University alumnus, he also serves on the Dean's Advisory Committee of the Whitman School of Management.

Biniam Yohannes
Board Member

Biniam is a Managing Director at Catalyst Principal Partners and serves as a member of the Catalyst Investment Committee. Biniam brings with him 11 years of experience in investment banking, private equity and emerging markets. Biniam worked at Goldman Sachs for 9 years and was most recently a Vice President in the Infrastructure Group where he was responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing investments across developed and emerging markets. Biniam previously worked in the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecom as well as Project & Public Finance Groups. Biniam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Saint Anselm College where he graduated with honours. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master in Engineering Management from Dartmouth College.

Rajal Upadhyaya
Board Member

Rajal is a Managing Director at Catalyst Principal Partners and serves as a member of the Catalyst Investment Committee. Rajal has 13 years of management consulting, corporate finance, operations and business development experience. He was previously the business development director responsible for Africa for Diageo based in London, where he lead strategy development and value creation opportunities for Diageo’s businesses across Africa. Rajal previously worked as a Management Consultant at Marakon Associates in London, as an Executive in the Corporate Finance & Privatisation Unit at PWC in Nairobi and as an Associate at Pipal in Nairobi. Rajal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the London School of Economics, an MBA from the London Business School and is a CFA Charterholder.
